At Messina Inn, we’re always looking for ways to create even more space for you to unwind, breathe deeply, and feel at home in the Texas Hill Country. That’s why we’re so excited to share our newest addition: Whitetail Trail, a nature-inspired walking path designed to help guests slow down and reconnect with the land around them.
Tucked into our 13-acre property along Cypress Creek, Whitetail Trail isn’t just a pretty path—it’s a peaceful, purposefully designed experience that brings you closer to the natural beauty of Wimberley. We worked alongside the Wimberley Birding Society and local flora experts to ensure this trail would do more than offer a scenic stroll. It’s built to nurture native plants, support wildlife habitats, and quietly invite you to enjoy the sounds and sights of the Hill Country.
To celebrate the opening of the trail, we hosted a ribbon cutting with the Wimberley Valley Chamber of Commerce on June 18th, 2025. Many of our fellow local business owners joined us for the occasion, and we loved welcoming them to the property for a special tour of Whitetail Trail. It was a meaningful moment to come together as a community and share what makes this space so special.
Along the trail, you’ll find shaded seating nooks perfect for morning coffee or a good book, a charming picnic spot, and a gathering firepit to cozy up in the evening. Soon, you’ll also notice birdhouses, feeders, and native landscaping carefully added to attract our feathered friends—and to make the trail come alive in every season.
As our General Manager, Cherri Maley, put it best:
